4 week CELTA timetable

Each CELTA course requires trainees to spend a minimum of 120 hours in order to complete all aspects of the course. ​
During the 4 week Face2Face CELTA Course trainees will need to:
  • Attend Input sessions
  • Attend and Participate during Teaching practice  (TP)
  • Attend and Participate during Feedback
  • Attend and Participate during Supervised Lesson Preparation (SLP) 
Contact hours per week:
Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:30 
TP and Input times each day:
  • 9:00 to 10:00 - feedback + SLP
  • coffee break
  • 10:15 to 11:45 input A
  • break
  • 12:00-13:30 input B
  • break for lunch 
  • 14:30 to 16:45 TP   (3 x 45mins)
  • break
  • 17:00 to 17:30 (self evaluation & tidy up)

Assignment 1   - Focus on the Learner 
Assignment 2   - Language Related Tasks 
Assignment 3   - Language Skills Related Tasks
Assignment 4   - Lessons from the Classroom ​
How much work is involved?
Trainees must anticipate that they will spend extra time outside their contact hours with tutors to:
  • Write lesson plans
  • Complete their assignments
  • Read, study and review input sessions. course units relating to lessons they have to teach and assignments they need to write.
  • Observe lessons taught by qualified teachers
  • Update their CELTA 5s
